Socioeconomic
On the following pages, we summarize our 2006 socioeconomic performance and discuss our progress in workforce development, stakeholder engagement, health and safety, supply chain management, community engagement, and human rights.
We also look at our Southern Africa strategic business unit’s socioeconomic performance in Angola in an in-depth case study.
In each of these areas, our efforts are guided by our conviction that partnerships benefit the communities in which we operate and contribute to more stable and secure energy supplies.
In this section:

"Partnership is at the heart of our approach to community engagement. We work closely with governments, communities, nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions and other stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate our economic and social development projects. Investing in and collaborating with people and communities leads to sustainable growth and prosperity, which benefits everyone."
