    Corporate Vice President and President, Chevron Gas and Midstream

    Joe Geagea is a corporate vice president and president of Chevron Gas and Midstream. Geagea is responsible for commercializing Chevron's natural gas resources and supporting the development of new growth opportunities worldwide. Geagea also oversees Chevron's shipping, pipeline, power operations and natural gas trading operations. Geagea assumed his position in January 2012.

    A native of Lebanon, Geagea was born in 1959. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in 1981 and a master's degree in 1982, both in civil engineering.

    Geagea began his career with Chevron in 1982 and has held a number of positions with increasing responsibility in engineering, planning, supply and trading, lubricants, and retail marketing.

    Following the merger of Chevron and Texaco in 2000, Geagea assisted in integrating the two companies, including advising the executive vice president of Global Downstream.

    In 2002, Geagea ran Chevron's Downstream operations in East Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan. In 2004, he became the president of Fuel and Marine Marketing, a global trading and marketing organization serving the marine industry.

    Geagea rejoined the upstream business in 2005 when he became vice president of Chevron's International Exploration and Production Co. In 2006, he was appointed vice president of Upstream Capability, where he was responsible for improving the delivery of support services to Chevron's global upstream activities.

    In 2008, Geagea became managing director of Chevron Asia South Ltd., a business unit of the Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production Co. He was responsible for Chevron's upstream activities in Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

    Geagea is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is past president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand. He also sits on the advisory council of Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok.
