Michael K. Wirth
Executive Vice President, Downstream and Chemicals
Michael K. (Mike) Wirth, 55, is executive vice president of Downstream and Chemicals for Chevron Corporation, a position he has held since 2006. He is responsible for directing the company’s worldwide manufacturing, marketing, lubricants, chemicals and Oronite additives businesses.
Previously Wirth served as president of Global Supply and Trading from 2003 to 2006. He was responsible for leading the corporation’s worldwide supply and trading operations as well as its aviation, marine and asphalt businesses.
Wirth has held a number of engineering, construction and operations positions of increasing responsibility. In 2001, he was named president of Marketing for Chevron’s Asia/Middle East/Africa marketing business unit.
He serves on the board of directors of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation and is chairman of the Dean’s Engineering Advisory Committee at the University of Colorado.
Wirth joined Chevron in 1982 as a design engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado in 1982.
