Michael K. (Mike) Wirth
Executive Vice President, Downstream and Chemicals
Michael K. (Mike) Wirth is executive vice president of Downstream and Chemicals for Chevron Corporation, a position he has held since 2006. He is responsible for directing the company's worldwide manufacturing, marketing, lubricants, chemicals and Oronite additives businesses.
Previously Wirth served as president of Global Supply and Trading from 2003 to 2006. He was responsible for leading the corporation's worldwide supply and trading operations as well as its aviation, marine and asphalt businesses.
Wirth has held a number of engineering, construction and operations positions of increasing responsibility. In 2001, he was named president of Marketing for Chevron's Asia/Middle East/Africa marketing business unit.
He currently serves on the board of directors of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation and the Dean's Engineering Advisory Committee at the University of Colorado.
Wirth was born in 1960 in Golden, Colo. He began his career with Chevron as a design engineer in the corporate engineering department after graduating in 1982 from the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
