Thomas R. Schuttish
General Tax Counsel
Thomas R. Schuttish is general tax counsel for Chevron Corporation In this capacity, he guides and directs the tax activities throughout the corporation and serves as manager of Chevron's Tax department.
A native of Carmel, California, Schuttish graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He earned a law degree from the University of California at Davis and a master's degree in law specializing in tax from New York University.
Schuttish joined Chevron in 1980 as a senior tax attorney and has worked in a succession of positions in the corporate Tax department. In 1994, he was appointed assistant general tax counsel, a position he maintained upon the formation of ChevronTexaco Corporation, Oct. 9, 2001.
He assumed his current position in September 2002.
Schuttish is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, the Tax Council, the State Bar of California and the Tax Foundation.
Schuttish was born in 1947.
