The Tahiti Field is one of the largest discoveries to date in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Like the Blind Faith Field, it represents record-breaking achievements by pushing the limits of technology at previously untapped depths and in extremely high-temperature, high-pressure environments. The nearly completed production facilities, shown here, sit in approximately 4,100 feet (1,250 meters) of water. Tahiti is expected to come onstream in mid-2009 with a daily production capacity of 125,000 barrels of crude oil and 70 million cubic feet of natural gas.
