Chevron operates through a number of facilities in Belgium.
Our operations in Ghent include a lubricants blending plant and a research facility. The blending plant makes specialized automotive and transmission oils as well as products that improve viscosity. At our research facility, we develop and provide technical support for automotive, industrial and marine lubricants and coolants. From this facility, which also houses the fuels technology group for Europe, we provide a testing service and quality monitoring programs for our customers around the world.
Antwerp is one of the worldwide hubs where Chevron Premium Process and Base Oils products are stored to maximize availability in high-demand areas. And in Boom, we operate a warehouse used to export finished lubricants to the rest of Europe.
Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC has two production facilities in Belgium. The plant in Kallo-Beveren produces Ryton®, a high-performance polymer used in computer components, automotive parts and various electrical appliances. The facility in Tessenderlo manufactures organosulfur chemicals, which are used in the odorization of propane and natural gas, in agricultural chemicals, and as modifiers in rubber and plastic production.
Chevron Aviation provides aviation fuel at the Brussels and Liège airports and has added a new marketing location to its European operations at South Charleroi Airport, about 28 miles (46 km) from central Brussels.
Chevron is a partner in Arteco, a 50-50 joint venture. Arteco produces and markets a range of cooling and heat transfer fluids to customers in Europe.
