Members of the Chad consortium support health and education initiatives that benefit the community and the project's employees.
These initiatives include HIV/AIDS and malaria education and prevention programs. Anti-cholera programs focus on improved sanitation and potable drinking water. The partners also built, refurbished and supplied clinics in the vicinity of the Doba oil fields and transported nurses to dozens of locations to administer polio vaccinations. The consortium also sponsors college and advanced education programs for Chadians.
In the workplace, the partners focus on training and mentoring Chadian employees. During project construction, the consortium worked closely with local communities and emphasized local contracts for maintenance, supplies, and other goods and services.
