Exploration and Production
In the Netherlands, Chevron operates under our subsidiary Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands B.V. We operate and have interests ranging from 34.1 percent to 80 percent in 10 offshore blocks in the Dutch North Sea. A block is usually split up into two or more licenses.
Five blocks, in which Chevron has a unitized interest of 34.1 percent, make up the A/B Gas Project. Chevron also has interests ranging from 46.7 percent to 80 percent in three blocks that contain producing fields and a 48 percent interest in the P/1 and P/2 exploration blocks.
In 2012, average net daily production was 2,000 barrels of crude oil and 42 million cubic feet of natural gas.
The second stage of the A/B Gas Project, the unmanned B13 satellite development, began production in 2011. In 2013, plans to develop Block A18 were under way.
Marketing and Retail
From our offices in Rotterdam, our subsidiary Chevron Netherlands B.V. sells lubricants under the Texaco® brand for all applications, including Havoline® motor oil in automotive markets and Ursa® lubricating oils in commercial markets. We also sell to industrial and marine markets.
Chevron's lubricants are developed in technology centers around the world, including our Ghent Technology Center in Belgium.
Oronite
Our subsidiary Chevron Oronite Technology B.V. runs the Rotterdam Technology Lab where we conduct lubricant oil and fuel additive research.
The facility includes an engine test laboratory that focuses on testing automotive and large marine diesel engine additives. The lab meets the engine oil development needs of Oronite® additive customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The Rotterdam facility also is the global headquarters for Oronite Marine Lubricant Additives research.
