Exploration and Production
Chevron currently has interests ranging from 34.1 percent to 80 percent in nine Dutch offshore blocks. Five of the nine blocks are producing; the rest are under development.
In 2008, total average daily production was 3,000 barrels of crude oil and 112 million cubic feet of natural gas. The company's net oil-equivalent production was 9,000 barrels per day on average.
Work on the next phase of the A/B Gas project continued in 2008 using knowledge gained from the performance of the first phase of the development. A final investment decision for this phase is planned for 2009.
Marketing and Retail
Chevron offers lubricants under the Texaco brand for all applications, including Havoline® in the automotive markets and Ursa® in commercial markets. We also sell to industrial and marine markets.
Our market share of lubricants in the Netherlands is approximately 8 percent. Chevron's lubricants are developed in technology centers around the world, including our Ghent Technology Center in Belgium.
Oronite
At Chevron Oronite's Rotterdam Technology Lab, we conduct lubricant oil and fuel additive research.
The facility includes an engine test laboratory with 19 test stands, which can handle large marine diesel engines that burn heavy fuel. The lab meets the automotive engine oil development needs of Oronite's customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The Rotterdam facility also is Oronite's global headquarters for Oronite Marine Lubricant Additives.
