Exploration and Production
Chevron has four licenses to explore for natural gas from shale formations in southeast Poland.
Chevron operates the licenses and holds 100 percent interest in each. They include:
- Frampol concession, 291,000 acres (1,200 sq km)
- Grabowiec concession, 290,000 acres (1,200 sq km)
- Krasnik concession, 295,000 acres (1,200 sq km)
- Zwierzyniec concession, 203,700 acres (800 sq km)
We finished drilling the first well in the Grabowiec concession in March 2012. That was followed by a diagnostic fracture integrity test in December 2012. In early 2013, we were studying test results.
We also drilled our first well in the Frampol concession in 2012. In early 2013, the site was being reclaimed with plans to fully restore the land for agricultural use.
Drilling of a well in the Zwierzyniec concession began in December 2012. Continued exploration drilling is planned for 2013.
Well pad construction in the Karsnik concession K1 started in March 2013.
