Singapore plays a critical role in Chevron's global operations.
This is the regional headquarters for our downstream operations in Asia-Pacific, which include the manufacturing, supply and trading, marketing, and lubricants businesses. Chevron Upstream also has a presence in Singapore through our shipping, global gas and power generation businesses. In September 2008, Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production opened a regional office in Singapore.
One of Chevron's seven core refineries is in Singapore, producing petroleum products for the Asia-Pacific region. Our lubricant additives manufacturing facility in Singapore, operated by Chevron Oronite, is the largest in Asia. Through our affiliate Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC, Chevron also has two chemical plants in Singapore.
In addition, the Caltex brand, which serves customers in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, is managed from Singapore. A network of Caltex service stations and convenience stores is also located in Singapore.
