Caltex Energy for Learning® is our signature social investment program in Singapore. Through this initiative we support learning-based projects that create opportunities for individuals to acquire new knowledge and skills. In 2012, the program focused on two projects.
Chevron Singapore partnered with the People Association (PA) to launch Caltex PAssion for Kids, a new enrichment program targeted at low-income families. This initiative inspires learning by giving underprivileged children in primary and secondary schools the opportunity to gain knowledge, develop new skills and be exposed to new ways of learning.
We also launched Driving Change with Caltex, an innovative social media and reality TV program that showcases Caltex's commitment to social responsibility in five countries. In Singapore, Chevron activated the Caltex service station network to sell food hampers containing a selection of staple foods, which were donated to the elderly in need. Together with the generosity of the local community and our business partners, Caltex donated food to more than 14,000 families.
