The concept of partnership is central to everything we do and hope to do. Strong partnerships, based on cooperation and trust, let Chevron continue to access resources and invest in infrastructure. They help assure the long-term health of our company and, in doing so, promote economic growth and human progress for the generations who will follow us.
A Workplace of the Future
Chevron completed its first LEED-certified green building project, the Northpark facility in Covington, Louisiana. We are now pursuing LEED certification for new construction and existing buildings at additional Chevron sites, including our San Ramon corporate headquarters.
Putting Innovation to Work
Trond Unneland, managing executive of Chevron's venture capital group, thinks he might have the best job in the company. He leads a team that invests in startup companies with innovative technologies that meet Chevron’s needs in information technology, materials science, oil and gas technology, communications, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
Caring for the Environment
Chevron's management of the Barrow Island oil field, off the northwest coast of Australia, is recognized as an industry benchmark for the coexistence of petroleum development and biodiversity protection. Chevron ecologist Dorian Moro, Ph.D., and his colleagues help manage biodiversity projects, such as tracking the movement of Flat Back turtles to maintain the integrity of the environment.
Addressing Climate Change
We are working to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while expanding our energy supply portfolio to meet the world's energy needs. Chevron climate change advisor Arthur Lee is an expert in carbon capture and storage. He has participated in industry workshops and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report.
Growing Local Business
Chevron's Supplier Diversity program benefits the company and its suppliers. Sandra Floyd’s company, OUTSOURCE Consulting Services, Inc., supplies staffing to Chevron. Her company provides businesses with top-quality talent from the local community and creates jobs. She and her staff also donate their time and resources to help others.
Education Partnership Inspires Students Around the World
At Chevron, we believe that education is an important factor in the economic growth and well-being of the communities in which we work. That's why we partner with the Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership (DCGEP), which is advancing the quality of education in developing countries through technology, video programming and innovative teacher training.
