The concept of partnership is central to everything we do and hope to do. Strong partnerships, based on cooperation and trust, let Chevron continue to access resources and invest in infrastructure. They help assure the long-term health of our company and, in doing so, promote economic growth and human progress for the generations who will follow us.
Reaching Out to Save Lives
In the Dunoon community near Chevron's Cape Town Refinery, more than 50 percent of residents have HIV/AIDS. Chevron, in partnership with the Department of Social Development and Heavenly Promise, established the Dunoon Home Community Based Care Center (HCBC) to meet the needs of home-bound AIDS patients.
Learning About Future Energy
Chevron installed a field of solar panels to evaluate next-generation solar energy technologies. Located in Bakersfield, Calif., Project Brightfield will test seven emerging photovoltaic technologies. Electricity generated from the field will be directed to the local utility grid and Chevron’s oil production operations at the Kern River Field.
Chevron Uses Energy Efficiently
With the demand for energy increasing around the world, we recognize the need to use energy efficiently across our entire company. Since 1992, we've increased the energy efficiency of our global operations by 30 percent.
Introducing Girls to Science
Chevron partners with the Techbridge program to encourage girls to study science and engineering. As part of the program, the girls take a field trip to Chevron headquarters in San Ramon, Calif., where they meet role models and learn about potential careers in engineering, science and technology.
