History Quotes   Chevron's support of Breast Cancer Awareness started in the early 1990's as several local sponsorships of various run/fitness walks, including "Race for the Cure" events conducted by Susan G. Koman for the Cure. With the combined successes of the race sponsorship and Chevron's Toy Car campaign, in 2001 Chevron launched a limited edition toy car named Hope to help promote breast cancer awareness.

Since that inaugural year, the popularity of Chevron's pink ribbon-adorned cars has been tremendous. With 100 percent of the net proceeds contributed to promote the early detection of breast cancer, you have helped contribute more than $1.3 million by sharing Hope, Faith, and Cherish as a friendly reminder with loved ones affected by the disease.

Normally, between 150,000 and 250,000 non-limited edition Chevron Cars are produced for each new model. On average it takes up to three years for the entire stock to be sold out. With Hope, Faith, and Cherish, between 75,000 and 100,000 were produced of each model, and every last one of them has sold out within three months! It is a true testament to the positive impact the cars have on families and friends affected by breast cancer.

With the introduction of the new 2008 Chevron Car, Spirit, your continued support will help Chevron reach its contribution goal of $1.5 million by the end of the year.

Courage 2007

Enthusiasm runs in Spirit’s family, so whatever she does, she puts her all into it. From a quick call on a friend in need to running a marathon for her favorite cause, Spirit keeps her acts of kindness coming at a steadfast clip, always ready to deliver an extra smile to anyone who needs it. Her generous attitude and faithful follow-through give spirited examples for others to follow.
Promise 2006

Courage is driven by confidence, sincerity and true friendship. She’s a community activist, volunteering for worthy causes, standing up for important social issues, and continually helping those unable to help themselves. She’s never afraid to drive door-to-door to support a struggling grassroots movement, and she’s toying with the idea of writing a book to encourage others to do the same.
Promise 2006

Beneath the classic beauty and deluxe detailing of Promise beats a heart of pure gold. Each day Promise relies on the old-fashioned values of her classic-model ancestors: make only promises you can keep - and then try to deliver even more than you promise. She knows that true friendship means making real promises to love, support, and care for others in good times and bad. That's what makes her such a perfect friend.
Cherish 2005

When it comes to friendship, Cherish lives up to her name. She always sends thoughtful reminders to friends and family so they know how much she appreciates them. Cherish also loves to travel with her best friends Hope and Faith in order to help those in need. Cherish never expects anything in return for her thoughtfulness - the happy expressions on her friends' faces is satisfaction enough.
Faith 2004

Faith knows how important a good friend is - something she learned from her best friend and big sister, Hope. Faith loves to travel with her friends and has a passion for music. She loves to sing and make people smile, but more importantly, she loves to hear others sing their story of courage and inspiration.
Hope 2001 to 2003

Originally from Sisters, Oregon, Hope went through a few cosmetic makeovers in her three years of supporting breast cancer awareness. Although her appearance may have changed, her friendly and helpful personality has remained the same. Hope is always willing to give everyone near her encouragement and support, because she believes that a little hope can go a long way.
