REACH is the Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. It entered into force on 1st June 2007 to streamline and improve the former legislative framework on chemicals of the European Union (EU). REACH places greater responsibility on industry to manage the risks that chemicals may pose to the health and the environment.

One of the ways Oronite continuously maintains the sustainability of our business is to make sure we abide by the values and standards of product stewardship.
Product Stewardship is Responsible Care® actively applied to the production and use of additives and covers the entire product chain including: transport, storage, use and disposal. Our approach to product stewardship involves the close cooperation of everyone involved in the life cycle of our additives: Oronite employees, suppliers, distributors, transporters and customers.
We believe that if everyone involved in the manufacturing of an additive takes personal responsibility for its impact on product quality AND human health and the natural environment – then we will be able to live up to our promise that people are at the forefront of everything we do. In other words, we know that taking care of people and the environment on our end will ultimately benefit our customers’ customers on the other end of the supply chain.
Furthermore, we are actively engaged in ongoing efforts to improve product stewardship across the additives industry and in our company in part to increase public awareness and bolster confidence in the very idea that the chemicals we use to make the additives that go into the ordinary products consumers use everyday – are safe and safely managed.
To do this, we have developed a tiered process for assessing the risks of the various chemicals and components we use, we foster best-in-class risk management behaviors within Oronite and recommend certain techniques according to how our customers use our products, and finally, we make chemical health and safety information available to the public. All of these activities are to make sure you know we know what the potential effects of our various chemicals and components will have on employees, customers, distributors, transporters, the public and the environment.
Finally, we have an ironclad commitment that whenever we see that a product or its packaging needs to be improved – in terms of energy and materials consumption, air and water emissions, toxicity, safety, disposability, etc – we will complete that work as efficiently as possible before it gets near you.
