What is the lubricity standard for diesel fuels?

The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) recently adopted standard D975 for the lubricity of diesel fuels that went into affect January 1, 2005. The ASTM specifies that the High-Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) test D 6079 be used to measure the fuel's lubricity, and that the test result be a wear scar diameter no greater than 520 microns.
