At Chevron we have over 100 years of experience in producing fuels, lubricants and base oils. Our first base oil was the only blend component in our first lubricant, Zerolene that was introduced in 1907. The oil achieved market success internationally.

Developing Technology For Cleaner Burning Engines

In 1994 Chevron introduced ISODEWAXING® catalyst and technology, a radically new refining process that produced water-white, chemically pure base oils from conventional feedstocks.

Today, virtually all of the Group II and Group III base stocks in the world are produced using isomerized dewaxing technology. Widespread availability of these oils enables high performance global specifications to be set and met.

Partnering to Meet the Worlds Needs

We work closely with lubricant manufacturers, additive companies, original equipment manufacturers and industry groups such as API, SAE, ILSAC and ACEA to advance industry standards that protect engine performance while enabling environmental compliance for new engine designs.

Manufacturing Globally For Better Supply Reliability

Today, at two strategically located refineries we produce a full slate of premium Group II/II+/III base oils. A third plant is under construction. When it is completed we will have the capacity to produce over 50,000 barrels per day (BPD) (2500 kMT/year) of common slate premium base oils. Our base oils are shipped to four regional supply hubs centrally located within the world's most significant lubricant markets.

The Chevron Way

Everything that we do in Global Base Oil is driven by one constant thread, our commitment to working The Chevron Way.

At the heart The Chevron Way is our vision to be the global energy company most admired for its people, partnership and performance.
