In 1980, Art joined Chevron as an operator trainee at Chevron's Richmond Refinery.  During his 11 years at the refinery, his work covered the spectrum including construction and start-up of the Richmond Lube Oil Plants (RLOP), refinery environmental liaison with the surrounding community, operations supervisor, and special assignment/shutdown supervisor.  Art brought his refinery expertise to the Base Oils Group in 1991. Working on base oil supply chain management for the past 10 years, Art has become an expert in supply logistics.  His knowledge was instrumental in designing the supply/distribution systems for marine and rail for Chevron and has been adopted by others in the industry.
