United Way of Jackson & George Counties
Chevron and its Chevron Pascagoula Refinery employees historically contribute 20 percent, or more, of the total amount raised during the annual campaign of the United Way of Jackson & George Counties. Chevron employees make their United Way pledges during a six-week campaign conducted each fall.
A number of Chevron volunteers serve on the local United Way organization's Allocation Committees, which determine the amount of United Way funding each affiliated agency receives. Steve Renfroe and Amy Brandenstein represent the company on the United Way Board of Directors.

Salvation Army Christmas Toys Program
Since the mid-1990s,
Pascagoula Refinery employees have
donated thousands of dollars in toys
to the local Salvation Army’s Angel
Tree Christmas Program. Initiated
and managed by a group of volunteer
employees, the Refinery Christmas
Toys Drive collects hundreds of toys
and an average of $2,500 to purchase
additional toys for needy children.
Toy
Drive committee volunteers, use the cash to
purchase "Wish List" items that are
listed with the Salvation Army's
Angel Tree Program. Also, a portion
of the toy and cash donations go to
make Christmas a memorable
experience for children at St.
Mary’s Home for Children in Mobile.
Additionally, about 30 Chevron employees and family members spend hours after work and on the weekend assisting the Salvation Army in sorting donated toys and new clothing gifts for the Angel Tree program. They also help sort the thousands of canned and dry goods donated to the Salvation Armys Holiday Basket Food Program.
