Chevron's Supplier Diversity/Small Business Program

This corporate-wide program’s mission is to provide small, minority, and women owned business enterprises with business opportunities, outreach assistance, and information they need to do business with Chevron. Numerous companies in our Gulf Coast area have qualified for the program and continue to work as business partners with the Pascagoula Refinery.

Those interested may learn all about the program and register their business by completing the on-line registration form at this site: www.chevron.com/about/supplierdiversity/

Information provided by qualifying businesses is entered into a program database according to the business Type and Service(s) provided. This information remains in the database and is available to Chevron’s procurement professionals who search the database for suppliers when needs arise.

A qualifying business owner in Mississippi will be directed to forward the completed registration form to the area Supplier Diversity/Small Business Coordinator, who is a Procurement Team employee here at the Pascagoula Refinery.

Mississippi Minority Business Alliance

Personnel on Pascagoula’s Procurement Team helped establish and continue to be active in the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance (MMBA). The MMBA is a statewide nonprofit organization of major businesses and minority business owners working together to enhance business opportunities for minority owned companies.

MMBA has opened doors of economic opportunity by bringing together major corporations and minority suppliers in a mutually beneficial partnership.

Contact the MMBA at P. O. Box 101055, Jackson, MS 39286, Fax 601.352.0840.

Chevron’s Pascagoula Refinery was recognized in 2001 with the Mississippi Minority Business Alliance’s Minority Business Champion Award for "commitment to minority business development through contributions and resources, and innovative procurement practices."

Supporting Local Chamber of Commerce

One way the refinery helps support local businesses is through active membership and participation in the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Members of the refinery management team serve on the Chamber’s board of directors and major committees. Our Procurement Team encourages the refinery’s material and service providers to join and participate in the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

Chevron Pascagoula’s Procurement Team sponsors and staffs a booth at the local Chamber of Commerce’s Trade Show, which is staged each summer at the Jackson County Civic Center in Pascagoula. The annual event provides area business professionals the opportunity to build relationships and to see materials and services offered by neighboring businesses.
