Java is a computer language that allows applets to be run on your computer.
It can run on various operating systems as long as Java has been
enabled to run. Most modern browsers support Java.
The reactor applet is compatible with Netscape 4.5 and up. If you have trouble
running the reactor applet on our website, please
check if Java is enabled. The following gives information for a few browsers
on where to check.
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer 4, 5 and 6
- Choose Tools from the Menu, then Internet
options
- Select the Security tab then the Custom
Level button
- In the dialogue box scroll down to the Microsoft VM section, Java
Permissions and select either High security, Medium
Security or Low Security
- Select OK in each dialogue box
Netscape
Netscape Navigator 4 and 6
- Choose Edit from the menu, then Preferences
- Select Category: Advanced
- Check the boxes called Enable Java and Enable
JavaScript
- Press OK
Netscape Navigator 7 and Mozilla 1.2.1
- Choose Edit from the menu, then Preferences
- Select Category: Advanced
- Check the box called Enable Java
- Select Category Scripts & Plugins
- Check the box called Enable JavaScript for Navigator
- Press OK
Opera
Opera 5
- Choose File from the menu, then Preferences
- Select Plugins
- Check the boxes called Enable JavaScript and Enable
Java
- Press OK
