When we partner with a country, we're committing for the long term. Some of our operations date back as long as 80 years. Many of our largest operations are in regions of the developing world that face difficult challenges. Since we're part of those communities, we have a stake in addressing the challenges.

As a company, we can't replace the role of government. But we can make a difference, and we're doing it through thousands of partnerships around the world. We focus on health, education and welfare. We're partnering with the Global Fund to build programs targeting HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in six countries that are at high risk from these diseases. Since 2002, we've supported the Discovery Channel Global Education Partnership, which is operating 65 learning centers in Africa and Latin America.

We call many communities home. In each of them, we not only support energy development, we also support economic and human development.
