Saudi Arabian Chevron

This is my 30th year working with Chevron in Saudi Arabia. I started my career with a scholarship from Getty Oil—one of Chevron's predecessor companies. Since then, I have been privileged to benefit throughout my career from Chevron’s commitment to training and development. This is really rewarding, because development of people means so much to me, and is close to my heart.

I am proud to have been part of the team that developed the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP). With the continued growth of the oil and gas industry in the Middle East, demand on qualified specialists and technicians is rapidly growing in the local labor force. The training provided through the SPSP has opened new great opportunities for local employment in the industry.

Chevron provides its workers with ongoing opportunities for professional training and development. People join the company at any level and continue to grow. So, it is up to the individual to grasp the opportunity and take advantage of it to improve his skills and competencies in order to grow within the organization.

Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic

I believe education and training is the best asset we can offer for our Saudi youth to become a competent skilled workforce to meet the Kingdom’s future challenges.

Since it was founded in 2008 with Chevron’s support, the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP) has provided hundreds of high school graduates with the training necessary to achieve internationally recognized certifications for oil field support services. Our goal at SPSP is to work collaboratively and in partnership with industry to provide the highest quality training programs for young Saudis. Each of our students is sponsored by a company and offered employment upon successful completion of the program. This is the best motivation you can offer a student.

Our success depends on the ongoing commitment of companies like Chevron to developing a workforce that can meet the long-term needs of the Kingdom. Without the right workforce, it is impossible to achieve prosperity as a nation.
