stakeholder engagement and feedback
As part of Chevron Australia’s (Chevron) stakeholder consultation strategy, and in compliance with Regulation 11A of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Environment) Regulations 2009 (OPGGS(E)), all relevant authorities, people and organisations will be engaged during preparation of the Great Australian Bight Exploration Drilling Environment Plan (EP).
In late 2016, the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) released its Draft Stakeholder Consultation and Engagement Principles and Methodology for Environment Plans. NOPSEMA endorsed the principles and methodology and Chevron is applying APPEA’s methodology for stakeholder engagement undertaken for this EP.
The APPEA methodology has four steps: scoping, making sufficient information available, addressing merits of claims and objections, and closing the feedback loop.
