From in-depth panel discussions and strategic sessions to ongoing presentations at exhibit booth #3217, Chevron, a presenting sponsor of WPC 2021, joined the global conversation about innovation, technology and leadership to help drive the energy industry forward.

Frank Cassulo, Chief Digital Officer, shared insights about Chevron’s emerging technologies during a panel discussion about the impacts of digitalization in the gas network. Jeff Gustavson, president of Chevron New Energies, addressed energy efficient flaring, methane offsets and electrification initiatives during WPC 2021. "I believe the oil and gas industry is going to play the biggest role in lowering global carbon emissions," he noted.

"Digital is a powerful enabler and changes the access of information," said Barbara Burger, president of Chevron Technology Ventures and vice president of Innovation, during a WPC special session. "No longer do we need a hierarchy to convey information. This all plays toward a very different role for employees. We hire good people into our industry, and they need to be decision makers earlier in their careers. They want to understand where the industry is going, and they also want to be part of that."

He highlighted the importance of natural gas and its role in accelerating the displacement of coal. "It's the first natural and fastest step to decarbonizing our energy system. What excites me is how we do that in a way that's responsible, that provides both affordable energy, reliable energy, and ever-cleaner energy into that region."
