Chevron Press Release - Chevron And Abb Lummus Crest Team On Catalysts
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, March 21, 1994 -- Chevron International Oil Company and its technology marketing partner, ABB Lummus Crest, have announced the formation of a new partnership that will manufacture and market catalysts to be used in refinery hydrocracking units. The partnership will provide Chevron's ICR series of catalysts, technical services and logistics support to hydrocracker operators worldwide. Additional technical service staff and marketing personnel have been dedicated to Chevron's ISOCRACKING(tm) and ICR catalyst functions by both companies.
The ICR catalyst series will be manufactured in ISO-9002 certified facilities operated by Crosfield Catalysts Company and Engelhard Corporation. A new catalyst plant is now under construction at Crosfield's Chicago site and will produce Chevron's proprietary COGEL amorphous and amorphous/zeolite members of the ICR series. This state-of-the-art COGEL facility is slated to start operations next month.
One year ago, at the annual meeting of the National Petroleum Refiners Association, Chevron and Lummus teamed together to market and license Chevron's ISOCRACKING technology. This advanced hydrocracking process is known for efficiently producing superior quality naphthas, middle distillates and lube oils. ISOCRACKING technology was recently announced as the selected hydrocracking approach for the world's largest hydrocracker to be built at the Kirishi Refinery located about 70 miles southeast of St. Petersburg, Russia. That project award brings the number of ISOCRACKING licenses to more than 40 worldwide.
Chevron International Oil Company, a Chevron Corporation subsidiary headquartered in San Francisco, licenses refining process technologies and sells catalysts worldwide. It also markets lubricants, marine fuels and aviation fluids; and trades crude oil, refined products and liquefied natural gas internationally.
