Chevron Press Release - Chevron And Corporate Energy Consultants Enter Into Natural Gas Broker Agreement
HOUSTON, April 13, 1995-- Chevron U.S.A. Production Company and Corporate Energy Consultants (CEC) of Chicago have entered into an agreement for CEC to act as an independent broker for Chevron and market natural gas to commercial and industrial companies in Chicago.
"There are significant benefits that Chevron can offer small industrial and commercial customers in the Chicago area," said Doug Jacques, manager of Retail Gas Sales for Chevron's Natural Gas Business Unit. "We have selected CEC to act as our broker because of the company's unique understanding of Illinois' natural gas consumer, utility and supplier issues."
"For several years, deregulation in Illinois has provided price benefits to consumers," said Chuck Prettyman, CEC president. "However, consumer awareness has evolved to the point where price competitiveness must be accompanied by reliability of supply.
"Our customers want reliable service, and by entering the market in the Chicago metro area, Chevron brings their national resources and ability to deliver natural gas on firm contracts to all of Northern Illinois."
Chevron U.S.A. Production Company is an operating unit of San Francisco-based Chevron Corporation and is one of the nation's largest producers of natural gas.
