chevron donates $50,000 to Pakistan flood relief

Chevron recently donated $50,000 to the nonprofit organization Save the Children for relief and recovery efforts in Pakistan, where the United Nations reports epic flooding has claimed the lives of 1,500 people and affected 20 million more in one of the worst natural disasters in recent history.

The company also launched an employee-giving campaign this week in Pakistan, where Chevron markets Caltex-branded products, operates a terminal and Lubricants and Aviation fuels businesses, and has an interest in the Karachi Refinery. The campaign enables Pakistani employees to make flood relief contributions to Save the Children through payroll deductions, and $10,000 has been pledged to date. Chevron also matches U.S.-employee donations to the flood relief efforts through its Chevron Humankind program.
