Chevron Press Release - Chevron Donates $75,000 To Provide Food And Shelter For Storm, Tornado Victims
SAN FRANCISCO, March 2, 1998 -- Chevron Corp. today announced it has donated $75,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund to aid victims of recent floods in California and tornadoes in Florida.
The money -- $25,000 each for Northern California, Southern California and Florida -- is designated for food and shelter for those who have been left homeless by the El Nio-related weather disasters.
"Chevron has a long history of helping others in disaster situations such as this," said Ken Derr, Chevron's chairman and CEO. "We want to do what we can for our neighbors, customers and friends."
In recent years, Chevron has given nearly $500,000 toward disaster relief in the two states.
