ChevronTexaco Global Power Increases Investment in Tri Energy
HOUSTON, TX, March 9, 2005 -- ChevronTexaco Global Power Generation today announced it has acquired an additional 12.5 percent interest in the Tri Energy Company, a 700 megawatt independent power producer located in Ratchaburi Province, Thailand.
With the acquisition, ChevronTexaco and its Thai partner, Ratchaburi Gas Company Limited a subsidiary of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited, will each have a 50 percent interest in the Tri Energy Company. Rebecca Roberts, president of ChevronTexaco Global Power said, "ChevronTexaco is pleased with this additional investment because it serves our core business by increasing our capacity in Tri Energy's power plant from 262.50 to 350 M."
