ALICIA M. BOUTAN APPOINTED ASSISTANT TO MANAGEMENT IN THE OFFICE OF Texaco's CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

HOUSTON, May 4 -- Alicia M. Boutan has been appointed Assistant to Management in the office of Texaco Inc. Vice President and Chief Technology Officer James R. Metzger. The appointment was effective May 1.
As Assistant to Metzger, Boutan will support the team in delivery of its Texaco Corporate Center commitments and responsibilities. In making the announcement, Metzger said, "Alicia's business experience, her knowledge of Texaco operations and her demonstrated leadership skills will contribute to the success of our team. We look forward to the insight and perspective she will bring to our organization."
Boutan was graduated from Florida International University in 1981 with bachelor's degrees in political science and business administration. She joined Texaco the following year at Texaco's Exploration and Producing offices in Coral Gables, Fla. In 1986, Alicia was transferred from Coral Gables to Houston where she held various assignments in the Exploration and Production Technology Department.
Boutan joined Global Information Services (GIS) in 1993. Following various assignments of increasing responsibility, she was promoted to Assistant to the General Manager of GIS and later to her most recent position as Manager of Infrastructure Operations with responsibilities for Texaco's computer data center in Bellaire, Texas.
In her new assignment, Boutan will be co-located in Bellaire, Texas and White Plains, N.Y.
