Texaco Press Release - Deborah Alford Hamilton Named Assistant to Management


WHITE PLAINS, NY, December 21 -- Deborah Alford Hamilton has been named Assistant to Management in the Office of the Chairman effective January 1, 2000, it was announced today by Texaco Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter I. Bijur.

Hamilton is currently Manager of Public and Government Affairs for Equiva Services LLC, supporting the public and government affairs activities of Equilon Enterprises LLC, Texaco's western U.S. alliance with Shell Oil Company, and Motiva Enterprises LLC, Texaco's eastern U.S. alliance with Shell Oil Company and Saudi Refining, Inc. In her new assignment, Hamilton will manage Texaco's participation in key national business organizations and industry trade associations.

Commenting on the appointment, Bijur stated, "Debbie Hamilton brings to this position an in-depth understanding of the energy business and the skills needed to work collaboratively with public, private and government interests."

Hamilton was graduated from the University of Delaware in 1976 with a bachelor of arts and science degree in geography and economics. She subsequently served in various public affairs positions of increasing responsibility in both the private and public sectors. In 1982, she joined Getty Oil Company's Government Affairs Department in Delaware City, Del. and was named Government Affairs Coordinator there in 1984 for the Northeastern Region of Texaco U.S.A. Hamilton was named Assistant Manager of Media Relations for Texaco Inc. in White Plains, N.Y., in 1986 and became Manager of Media Relations there in 1987. In 1989, Hamilton returned to Delaware City as Manager of Public and Government Affairs-Northeast Region. With the formation of Equilon and Motiva in 1998, she was named to her current position with Equiva Services LLC.

Hamilton will spend her time at Texaco's Corporate Center in White Plains and the company's office in Washington, D.C. She will maintain an office in Delaware City and continue to reside with her family there.
