HELEN C. PATTISON APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER OF Texaco's OFFSHORE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Nov. 17 - Helen C. Pattison has been appointed General Manager of Texaco's Offshore Engineering Department, effective December 1, it was announced today by Dr. Ronald J. Robinson, President of Texaco's Technology Division.
As General Manager of the department, Pattison will be responsible for the development, acquisition and application of all engineering services in support of the company's worldwide offshore exploration and production activities.
Commenting on the appointment, Robinson said, "Texaco's ability to effectively develop the offshore reserves in the company's global portfolio will depend on superior engineering applications. Helen's extensive experience in producing operations, her thoughtful leadership and her record of applying technology and innovation are vital to leading the successful development of our worldwide offshore resources."
Pattison was graduated from Tulane University in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Upon graduation, she joined Texaco as an engineer in the Engineering Department in Houston.
Following engineering assignments in California, Pattison was named Assistant Division Petroleum Engineer in 1980 in the Los Angeles Producing Division. In 1984 she was transferred to the Bakersfield (Calif.) Division to serve as Area Superintendent for the Kern Front Area. Three years later she was named Area Superintendent in the Ventura (Calif.) Area. In the fall of 1987, she was named staff Coordinator-Corporate Planning and Economics Department in White Plains, N.Y. In February 1988 Pattison was assigned to the Executive Department in White Plains as Assistant to Management. In July 1990 she was named Assistant Division Manager-Production, and later, Assistant Division Manager - Assets in Midland, Texas.
Pattison was named Assistant Division Manager - Production in the Denver Producing Division in May 1993, and in 1996, she was appointed Business Unit Manager - Permian Basin, East located in Midland. In 1997 she was named to her most recent position of Vice President - Offshore Region of Texaco North America Production in New Orleans.
Pattison will relocate to Houston in her new assignment.
