Texaco Press Release - Jack Abadie Named President Texaco Natural Gas - North America

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Mar. 28 - John R. "Jack" Abadie has been named President of Texaco Natural Gas - North America (TNG-NA), effective immediately, it was announced today by William M. Wicker, Texaco Inc. Senior Vice President and President of Global Businesses.
In his new position, Abadie is responsible for all aspects of Texaco's North American natural gas and natural gas liquids business downstream of the wellhead. These responsibilities include gathering, processing, storage, fractionation, transportation, trading, marketing, risk management and strategic business partnership activities throughout North America.
Commenting on the appointment, Wicker said, "Jack's extensive commercial and operational experience in natural gas and natural gas liquids trading, marketing, transportation, storage and business development will enhance and support Texaco's natural gas businesses."
Abadie joined Texaco in 1970 in New Orleans and held various operational and human resource assignments in Texaco's Onshore and Offshore Divisions. In 1980 he was named to Division Human Resources Manager of the Onshore Division in New Orleans. A year later Abadie was appointed to Vice President, Bridgeline Gas Distribution Company, a subsidiary of Texaco Inc. located in New Orleans. In this position he was responsible for all natural gas purchases, sales, transportation, storage, regulatory and related activities for the Bridgeline distribution system in South Louisiana.
In 1990 Abadie was transferred to Houston to become President, Texaco Gas Marketing Inc., with the responsibility for Texaco's natural gas purchase and marketing activities in the United States. In 1994 Abadie was named Executive Vice President of TNG-NA, and last year was appointed Acting President of TNG-NA.
In his new position, Abadie will continue to be based in Houston.
