Texaco Press Release - Kjestine M. Anderson Elected Secretary of Texaco Inc.
FOR RELEASE: MONDAY, MARCH 30, 1998.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., March 30 - Kjestine M. Anderson has been elected Secretary of Texaco Inc. effective May 1, it was announced today by Texaco Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter I. Bijur. Anderson succeeds Carl B. Davidson, who will retire effective May 1.
In addition to her new responsibility, Anderson will continue to serve as Texaco's General Manager of Public Relations and Advertising, based at the company's executive offices in Harrison, N.Y.
In making the announcement, Bijur said, "Kjestine Anderson's leadership skills, her thorough knowledge of the company and her ability to forge strong and valuable relationships with our directors and key shareholders makes her ideally suited for this new responsibility."
Anderson joined Texaco in 1980 as a Contract Analyst in the Exploration, Producing and Gas Department in Denver, after earning a bachelor of arts degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and a doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Denver. Following assignments of increasing responsibility in Texaco's Gas Department and Texaco Exploration and Production Inc., Anderson was appointed Assistant to Management at Texaco's executive offices in Harrison in 1992. She relocated to the company's Latin America/West Africa Division based in Coral Gables, Fla., as Manager of New Business in 1994, and was named Director of Planning and New Business for the division the following year. Anderson was appointed Assistant Secretary and Assistant to Management in Harrison in 1996, and General Manager of Public Relations and Advertising in 1997.
