Texaco Press Release - Leroy E. Bookal Appointed Assistant Comptroller of Texaco Inc.
FOR RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 1998.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 15 - LeRoy E. Bookal has been named Assistant Comptroller of Texaco Inc. effective April 1, 1998, it was announced today by Robert C. Oelkers, Vice President and Comptroller of Texaco Inc. Bookal will also continue in his current capacity as Director of Internal Auditing.
Commenting on Bookal's appointment, Oelkers said, "Throughout his career with Texaco, LeRoy Bookal has contributed significantly to the company's auditing and accounting activities. His experience with the company, along with his demonstrated business acumen, make him a valuable member of the Texaco fiscal team."
Bookal was graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Baruch College in New York. He is a certified Management Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. Bookal joined Texaco in 1973 as an Accountant in Texaco's New York City accounting offices. In 1982, he was named Accounting Manager in the company's corporate offices in Harrison, N.Y. Bookal has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including those of Assistant Manager of the Financial Reporting Office, Manager of Accounting Services in Texaco's Houston office, Manager of Internal Auditing, and Manager of Financial Accounting for Texaco USA's Upstream activities. He was named to his current position as Director of Internal Auditing in October 1994.
In his new position, Bookal will continue to be located in Harrison, N.Y.
