Texaco Press Release - Michael H. Rudy Elected Secretary of Texaco Inc.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., December 10 - Michael H. Rudy has been elected Secretary of Texaco Inc., effective January 1, 2000, it was announced today by Texaco Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter I. Bijur. Rudy succeeds Kjestine Anderson, who has elected to take early retirement effective December 31, after 20 years of service.
In making the announcement, Bijur said, "Mike Rudy's corporate governance expertise and his thorough knowledge of the company and its operations make him well-suited for this new responsibility."
Bijur added: "The Board thanks Kjestine Anderson for her excellent service as Corporate Secretary."
Rudy, 56, earned a bachelor of arts degree from Adelphi University in 1964 and a law degree from Boston College in 1967. He joined Texaco in 1972 from private law practice. He has served in the Legal Department in Texaco's Corporate Center since that time, concentrating in corporate and securities law, public debt and equity financing, and compliance with international sanctions and boycotts. Rudy, a member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries, is a recognized expert in corporate governance and has provided legal support to the Office of the Secretary at Texaco for many years.
In his new position, Rudy will continue to be located at Texaco's Corporate Center in White Plains, N.Y. He and his wife live in Ridgefield, Conn.
