Texaco Press Release - Michele V. Ward Named Director of E-business for Texaco Global Businesses
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MONDAY APRIL 10, 2000.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 10, - Michele V. Ward has been named Director of E-business for Texaco's Global Businesses, effective April 1, it was announced today by Texaco Inc. Senior Vice President and President, Global Businesses, Glenn F. Tilton.
Commenting on the appointment, Tilton said, "E-business is becoming an increasingly important part of Texaco's business strategy and I have challenged Michele to lead a team to identify, implement, and maximize suitable e-business opportunities for Texaco's Global Businesses. She possesses the strong leadership skills and business insight necessary to position Texaco as an e-business leader among energy companies."
Ward joined Shell's Marketing Organization as an Engineer in 1987 after graduating from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She went on to hold engineering posts of increasing responsibility before being appointed Sales Manager, New England District, for Shell Oil Products Marketing in 1994. In 1996, she was named Diversity Manager, supporting the Marketing Organization, before being assigned as the Executive Director with responsibility for special projects associated with the start up of Motiva Enterprises, a joint venture between Texaco, Shell and Saudi Aramco. She was appointed to her most recent position, Assistant to Management in the office of Texaco Inc. Senior Vice President and President, Global Businesses, in July 1999.
In her new assignment, Ward will continue to be co-located in Houston and White Plains, N.Y.
