Texaco Press Release - Nancy Merola Joins Texaco as Manager, Reporting and Specialized Accounting
FOR RELEASE: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2000.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 7 - Nancy Merola has been appointed Manager, Reporting and Specialized Accounting in the Texaco Comptroller's Department effective immediately, it was announced today by George J. Batavick, Texaco Inc. Comptroller. Merola most recently served as the Director of the Corporate Accounting and Headquarters Planning department at RJR Nabisco.
In her new assignment, Merola will be responsible for all aspects of internal and external reporting, accounting research and other specialized accounting areas.
"Nancy will bring strong financial skills and proven project management experience to this new assignment," said Batavick. "We look forward to her insight and contributions."
Merola was graduated from Adelphi University in New York with a bachelor of business administration in accounting in 1985. She went on to earn an MBA with an emphasis in finance and international business from New York University in 1995.
Merola began her career with Arthur Young & Co. in 1985 as a Staff Auditor. She moved to Philip Morris Companies Inc. in 1989 as a Financial Analyst. In 1992, she was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst in the Financial Planning and Analysis Department and, a year later, was named Manager of that department. In 1995, Merola was named Financial Manager - Operations Finance for Kraft General Foods, a subsidiary of Philip Morris. Merola joined RJR Nabisco Holdings, Inc. in 1997 as a Senior Manager in the Corporate Accounting and Headquarters Planning Department. She was promoted to her most recent assignment in 1998.
Merola will be located at Texaco's Corporate Center in White Plains.
