Texaco Press Release - Ricks P. Frazier Appointed Texaco Associate General Counsel - Upstream

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., May 17 - Ricks P. Frazier has been appointed Associate General Counsel for Texaco's Worldwide Upstream, effective June 1, it was announced today by Texaco General Counsel, Deval L. Patrick.
In his new capacity, Frazier will be responsible for managing all legal activities related to Texaco's Worldwide Upstream business. He also will serve on the Legal Department's Leadership Counsel. In making the announcement, Patrick said, "In Ricks we have a colleague of special depth, perspective, experience and leadership skill. His experience in both the upstream and downstream sides of our business, domestically and internationally, will be invaluable as we continue to support the company's business initiatives."
Frazier received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Texas A&M University in 1978, graduating summa cum laude. He joined Texaco in 1981 after graduating from the University of Texas School of Law. Since then, Frazier has held various positions of increasing responsibility in the Legal Department, including serving as a Director and Shareholder Representative of Texaco Brasil from 1983 to 1985. In 1998, he was appointed to his most recent position of General Counsel for Motiva Enterprises LLC, a U.S. refining and marketing joint venture company between Texaco, Shell and Saudi Refining, Inc., an affiliate of Saudi Aramco, based in Houston.
In his new position, Frazier will remain in Houston.
