Texaco Press Release - Ricky Rudd Signs Contract to Drive Texaco/Havoline Ford for Robert Yates

FOR RELEASE: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1999.
Team owner Robert Yates has signed Ricky Rudd of Chesapeake, Virginia, to drive the No. 28 Texaco/Havoline Ford, starting in the 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season.
"Ricky's experience and performance in NASCAR has made him one of the most successful drivers on the Winston Cup circuit," said Yates. "His knowledge and proven track record will provide a considerable contribution to our team's efforts in making the No. 28 car successful."
Rudd's racing career has spanned 25 years, with 20 victories, 23 poles, 151 top-five and 300 top-10 finishes. Since 1994 he has been the owner/driver of the No. 10 car. Commenting on this new chapter of his career, Rudd said, "I am looking forward to working with Robert Yates, one of the most successful engine builders and car owners in NASCAR's history and his championship-caliber team. Together, we will work towards bringing the No. 28 Texaco/Havoline car to the winners circle again and again."
