Texaco Press Release - Steve Farrand Appointed Director of Business Analysis and Planning
FOR RELEASE: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2000.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 3 - Steve Farrand has been named Director of Business Analysis and Planning in the Comptroller's Department of Texaco Inc. effective immediately, it was announced today by Texaco Inc. Comptroller George J. Batavick. Farrand currently is the Assistant to Management in the Office of Texaco Inc. Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Farrand will be responsible for all aspects of strategic and tactical plan coordination, competitive analysis and special studies.
In making the announcement, Batavick said, "Steve has an in-depth understanding of Texaco's businesses, as well as strong analytical and proven leadership skills. These qualities will enable him to make valuable contributions in the analysis of information to support the company's strategies."
Farrand was graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1976 with a bachelor of science degree in finance and economics and earned a master of science degree in finance from the University of Houston in 1980. Farrand began his career in 1977 as an accounting supervisor with Kroger. He joined Texaco in 1989 as a staff analyst in the Comptroller's Department in Houston and, following several assignments of increasing responsibility, was named Manager of Producing Accounting in Bakersfield, Calif., in 1997. He was named to his current position in 1998.
Farrand will continue to be located at Texaco's corporate offices in White Plains.
