TEXACO NAMES MICHAEL G. McQUEENEY GENERAL COUNSEL
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 2001.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 27 - Michael G. McQueeney has been elected General Counsel of Texaco, effective immediately. McQueeney, who has been Acting General Counsel since last March, also serves on Texaco's Executive Council, the company's senior leadership team.
McQueeney was graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of science degree in industrial and labor relations in 1980. He earned a juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1983. McQueeney joined Texaco that same year in the Legal Department office in Houston. He was appointed section head of the Employment Group in Houston in 1989 and Senior Attorney in 1994. He was named head of the Litigation, Employment and Environmental section in that office in 1996. Prior to being named Acting General Counsel, McQueeney served as Associate General Counsel for Litigation and Regulatory. He will continue to have offices in both Houston and Texaco's Corporate Center in White Plains, New York.
