FOR RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1998.
WHITE PLAINS, N. Y., Dec. 9 - Texaco today announced its selection of The Chisholm-Mingo Group, a New York-based minority-owned and operated advertising and public relations firm, as its new partner for the development of an African American corporate communications effort in the U.S. This selection follows a comprehensive agency review involving minority-owned and operated agencies nationwide.
The Chisholm-Mingo Group's work will link strategically with Texaco's general market campaign, "A World of Energy," created by BBDO. The agency will assist Texaco in engaging the African American community in a dialogue with the goal of building positive interest in the company.
Kjestine M. Our objective with The Chisholm-Mingo Group is to open the lines of communication and strengthen our relationship with the African American community. A variety of communication programs, including advertising, events, public relations and web-based activities, will be considered. We look forward to working with the talented staff at Chisholm-Mingo to develop an integrated communications program for this important audience."
UniWorld Group, Inc., a minority-owned and operated agency, will continue to develop advertising programs for Texaco's retail products and services.
