Whether a new parent is anxious about their baby’s health or a pregnant woman is experiencing a difficult labor, the right health care can turn worry into relief.
Patients in two Argentinean towns are finding that peace of mind partly through a Chevron-sponsored initiative that’s delivering accessible health care to moms, kids and pregnant women.
We recently expanded our partnership with Baylor Argentina Foundation, part of the Texas Children’s Hospital global network, to a second town.
Working in partnership with provincial hospitals, we are supporting the communities of Añelo, close to Loma Campana field, and Rincón de los Sauces, close to El Trapial field. Both are in Neuquén Province, Argentina.

medical history
Since activity began in the Vaca Muerta shale play more than ten years ago, there has been significant demographic growth in Añelo.
As the city grew, it needed more medical resources. Chevron responded in 2017 by sponsoring the Baylor Argentina Foundation’s Maternal Child Health Program. It provides specialized health services to the local community.
Our expansion to a hospital in Rincón de los Sauces, will support local health care there, in partnership with provincial authorities.

In Añelo and Rincón de los Sauces, the Baylor Argentina Foundation gives mothers reassurance by providing essential prenatal care and well-child visits that help children thrive.
With Chevron’s support, the foundation has:
- Extended maternal health and nutrition programs in certain regions in 2021, increasing women’s access to health care in the area by more than 50%.
- Conducted routine pediatric health screenings for more than 4,400 children since 2017.
- Improved women’s access to prenatal screenings, reducing complications in high-risk pregnancies.
