
Laura J. Lane
Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer
Laura J. Lane, 58, is vice president and chief corporate affairs officer for Chevron Corporation, a position she assumed in February 2025. She is responsible for overseeing government affairs, communications, social investment and performance, and the company’s worldwide efforts to protect and enhance its reputation.
Prior to this role, Lane served as chief corporate affairs officer for UPS where she led a global team managing all public policy and government affairs, public relations, employee communications, sustainability, community relations, and The UPS Foundation work in more than 200 countries and territories. Before UPS, Lane was managing director and head of international government affairs at Citigroup and vice president for global public policy with Time Warner.
Lane began her career serving as a diplomat in the U.S. Foreign Service, where she served as economic and consular officer in Bogota, Colombia, and economic and political-military affairs officer at the American Embassy in Kigali, Rwanda. She also worked in the Economic and Business Bureau and in the State Department Operations Center. After her work in the State Department, Lane served as a trade negotiator in the Executive Office of the President in the United States Trade Representative’s Office. In this role, she was the trade in services negotiator with China as part of its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and served as U.S. negotiator on the first-ever WTO Financial Services Agreement. She also managed bilateral trade affairs with the Middle East and the Mediterranean countries, negotiating the Qualifying Industrial Zone agreements with Egypt, Israel and Jordan.
Lane received a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Loyola University and a master’s degree in foreign service in international economics and business diplomacy from Georgetown University. She is a Truman Scholar, a Juliette Low Society member and Ironman finisher.
