Michelle R. Green

Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Michelle Green, 53, is vice president and chief human resources officer for Chevron Corporation, a position she assumed in January 2025. Green serves on the company's executive leadership team and is responsible for the global HR organization, including all aspects of people management and advancing the company’s efforts to attract world-class talent and support its workforce by engaging the full potential of its people to deliver the future of energy.

Prior to this role, Green served as vice president for human resources, Oil, Products & Gas after the organization was formed in 2022 to combine activities of Upstream, Midstream and Downstream. Green also served as director of human resources operations for Chevron, overseeing Total Rewards, Employee and Labor Relations, the HR Shared Services organizations, and Business HR operations beginning in 2020. Prior to that assignment, she was vice president for human resources, Chevron Downstream & Chemicals.

Green joined Chevron in 1998 as an executive resources and leadership development consultant and has held various HR roles of increasing responsibility. She has served as HR advisor in Luanda, Angola, and general manager of human resources in the Asia South business unit in Bangkok, Thailand. She also held several roles in Total Rewards, including general manager of compensation and as management compensation committee secretary for the Chevron Board of Directors.

Green earned a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University Fresno in 1993, a Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 1997, and a master's in industrial and labor Relations from Cornell University in 1999. She is a member of the California State Bar.
